A Simple Tree Custom Framing & Art
1304 Erckmann Dr Ste D
Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464
A native of Columbia, South Carolina and a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Carol moved to Mount Pleasant in 1985 where she became employed as an elementary school teacher and technology coordinator. In 1998 she became adjunct professor at the College of Charleston and later The Citadel where she instructed faculty members to use Computer systems to best effect in their curricula.
In 2002, Carol began to exercise her entrepreneurial skills by establishing Southern Moon Custom Picture Framing Inc., a business dedicated to providing exceptional presentations for fine art. In 2007 she extended her reach by founding East Cooper Entrepreneurial Women (ECEW), a networking group dedicated to mentoring other women to establish, operate and promote their businesses.
In 2009, Carol expanded her framing business by establishing A Simple Tree Artist Framing, LLC to provide framing services for artists, galleries, interior designers, and collectors. In 2013 she consolidated all her framing services in this company, now called A Simple Tree Framing, Inc. Carol now frames for many of the most important artists and galleries in the Charleston area, including Anglin Smith Fine Art; Horton, Hayes Fine Art; Michael Mitchell Gallery; The Wells Gallery; Karen Hagen Gallery; Dog and Horse Gallery; Ella Richardson Fine Art; and Atrium Gallery.
To meet the presentation needs of individual artists and collectors who are not represented by galleries, Carol joined with Mary Frances Bishop to form Charleston Art Brokers, LLC (“CAB”), a firm dedicated to presenting, promoting, and brokering the work of exceptional painters, sculptors, and the like. CAB is now actively focused on finding, showing, and marketing important new artists throughout the South.
MARY FRANCES BISHOP
After many years of working in the financial sector as a securities sales and marketing executive in the New York City area, in 2012 Mary Frances chose to make a long sought career change by redirecting her interpersonal skills and creative talents to the arts. At the same time, she decided to move to Charleston, South Carolina to be near her three daughters and their children.
Fortunately, the area’s rich culture and broad network of artists, educators, and admirers
reinforced her career change by not only providing her the opportunity to express herself through painting and interior design, but also by enabling her to use her commercial expertise to support other emerging artists.
To facilitate the latter, Mary Frances decided to join with Carol Williams to form Charleston Art Brokers, LLC (“CAB”), a firm dedicated to exposing and promoting exceptional painters, sculptors, interior designers, and the like. CAB is now dedicated to finding, showing, and marketing important new artists throughout the South, beginning in Charleston.
